DIY Wool Fibre – Sponsored*

$5.00

Pure New Zealand Wool fibre ready for you to dye, use for collage or comb out and use for wet/needle felting. Suitable as stuffing for hand made creations and many other uses.

If you are affiliated to a school please contact us in regards to our special school offer via our contact page.

This wool is fresh off the farm in Kyeburn, stopping in Timaru to get washed and is now ready for anything you want to create with it. It still reflects it comes off the farm with some veggie matter hanging about and the wool fibres are a mixture of different lengths to keep things interesting.

It can be dyed (food colouring & vinegar**), used for collage or it can be combed to be felted (wet/needle felting) or spun into yarn. It can also be used as stuffing for little knitted or crochet creations. Or you can come up with something different.

*It is wonderful to work with wool and we want our children to grow up being able to experience this as well. Our farmers James and Sharon as well as Woolworks are helping us make this happen.

Thank you very much James and Sharon for your support and your wool donations every year. We can support them in turn by visiting their farm and staying at their cottage, Tranquil Cottage in the Country on Bookabach under Kyeburn. We loved the peacefulness when we were there.

We also have WoolWorks Timaru to thank for cleaning the wool for us. We have many people working for Woolworks to thank. We had the unique experience of watching our wool going through the scouring and drying process.
